Guide 11

Understand costs and limits

Check what your plan includes, how usage is measured, and what happens as you approach a limit.

Before you begin

Agreed commercial terms, a current usage calculation, and a person responsible for payment.

What to do

Complete 5 steps

  1. Clarify the billing unit

Record the plan and billing period. Clarify the unit of usage: what counts as a conversation, how channels are counted, and when a new period begins.

  2. Separate the costs

Separate the subscription, one-time setup, paid messages, voice minutes, and external services. Check which costs are included and which are charged separately.

  3. Review usage

Compare actual usage with the limit and the expected volume through the end of the period. If the interface does not provide a breakdown, ask the responsible person for a verified calculation.

  4. Agree on limits

Agree on a warning threshold and what happens when the limit is reached: stopping, manual approval, or another approved procedure. Do not assume that exceeding the limit is free or automatically billed.

  5. Check plan changes

Before changing plans, clarify the effective date, billing adjustments, data retention, and terms for ending the service. Keep the agreed version of the terms; an example price on the website does not replace your offer.

Check the result

Run the scenario with test data. Verify the result in your business system and make sure the responsible employee knows the next step.

This guide explains how to prepare and test a process. Available actions depend on your setup.
