Guide 08

Review your sales report

Check the underlying data and turn an observation into a specific action for the team.

Before you begin

An available report or export, agreed stage definitions, and confirmed inquiry outcomes.

What to do

Complete 5 steps

  1. Set the period

Specify the period, channel, team or branch, and process you are analysing. Compare equal time intervals and explain any changes in traffic volume or operating conditions.

  2. Check definitions

Check the definitions: what counts as an inquiry, a qualified lead, a booking, and a sale. Messages, tests, and duplicates must not inflate the number of sales.

  3. Find where enquiries stall

Find the stage where inquiries are being lost and read a few relevant conversations. Separate what the data shows from your assumptions about the cause.

  4. Agree on an action

For each recommendation, state the supporting evidence, expected change, owner, and review date. Changes to prices, advertising budgets, or outgoing messages require separate agreement.

  5. Assess the change

After a small, agreed change, compare the result with the baseline. Note the sample size and limitations; an increase over a short period does not, by itself, establish the effect of a single decision.

Check the result

Run the scenario with test data. Verify the result in your business system and make sure the responsible employee knows the next step.

This guide explains how to prepare and test a process. Available actions depend on your setup.
