Guide 06

Check the purchase or booking flow

Distinguish between collecting preferences and a confirmed action in the catalogue, calendar, or order system.

Before you begin

A verified operation in the connected system, a test product or time slot, and permission to run the test.

What to do

Complete 5 steps

  1. Define the action

Clarify the scope of the process: pass on a request, create an order, reserve a product, or confirm a booking. For each action, identify the source system and the confirmation it returns.

  2. Check the data

Check current information: the product price and variant, or the service, specialist, duration, and time. If the source is unavailable, collect the request without promising stock or an available slot.

  3. Confirm the terms

Before taking action, repeat the essential terms to the customer and obtain the required confirmation. Do not add services or paid actions they have not chosen.

  4. Verify the result

Run the authorised test and check the record in the source system. Save the result's reference number or other identifier; report success only after confirmation.

  5. Test exceptions

Test an occupied slot, an out-of-stock product, a repeated request, and a missing system response. First check whether the operation has already completed so a retry does not create a second order or booking.

Check the result

Run the scenario with test data. Verify the result in your business system and make sure the responsible employee knows the next step.

This guide explains how to prepare and test a process. Available actions depend on your setup.
